Workshop for Exploratory and Graphical Methods of Data Analysis

The goal for these workshop sessions is to give you practical, hands-on experience with the exploratory and graphical methods described in the lectures.

There are two workshop sessions. Generally, you might proceed sequentially from the menu, but feel free try your own analyses, ask for help, or explore on your own.

There are several main themes to these exercises:

  1. Using subsets of the SLID Persons File, we will examine some preliminary steps directed at fitting models predicting wages, work experience, etc.
  2. Using data from the PSID (Panel Study of Income Dynamics) to explore overall and longitudinal relations.
  3. Using some of the examples from the lectures, you will have an opportunity to try out some other methods on your own.
  4. Explore the other EDA examples, SAS EDA tools, and Other links provided here.
